Position Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant professional who can assist in the improvement of the accounts payable function including automation of the workflow and approval process.  The Accounting Asst. will evaluate the effectiveness of the current process and assist in the centralization or outsourcing of the AP function.  The Accounting Asst. is responsible for ensuring payments are made by Benchmark Senior Living in a timely manner. The Accounting Asst. works efficiently and effectively to see that invoices are received and payments are processed. The Accounting Asst. reports to the Controller.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the primary contact for vendor/associate inquiries providing superior customer service
  • Research and respond to inquiries from vendors and associates regarding vendor/expense account status
  • Participate in the month end accounting close by ensuring all invoices for goods/services rendered in the month are posted to the month being closed
  • Post cash to accounts receivable systems.
  • Make bank deposits of posted cash via check scanning platforms.
  • Serve as a back-up for community receptionist.
  • Other duties as assigned by Controller.



Job Requirements


  • 1-3 plus years of experience in related role
  • Technical capacity (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Yardi)
  • Experience in property management is desirable
  • BS in Accounting is desirable
