We are looking for a Diet Technician who will be responsible for the day to day assessment of all aspects of residents at moderate and low nutritional risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to screen, assess, and educate residents at moderate and low nutritional risk for diet and medical nutrition therapy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of food service regulations in MA
  • Knowledge of long-term care regulations in MA
  • Screen all new admissions and refer all moderate and high risk residents to the Resident Care Director
  • Interview residents and families for food preferences
  • Observe patient food intake and report progress and dietary problems to Resident Care Director
  • Inspect sanitation of the kitchen and kitchenettes
  • Review monthly weight loss report with the Resident Care Director

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree from an approved American Dietetic Association Dietetic Technician program and be registered within 6 months of employment
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics preferred or associate degree in related field, CDM or demonstrated equivalent knowledge as typically obtained with 5 years experience within the field
  • Experience as a Diet Technician in an long term care setting preferred
  • 1-3 years in a long term care setting
  • Education as above
